The Exhaustion Behind the Strong Black Women Image | BH

The Exhaustion Behind the Strong Black Woman Image | Becoming Herrss There’s a version of us the world celebrates — the woman who never breaks, never rests, never asks for help, never slows down. The woman who always carries it. The dependable one. The responsible one. The one who fixes everything without ever showing how heavy it feels. But here’s the truth we don’t say out loud: The Strong Black Woman image is exhausting. And it’s not the whole story. In this video, we’re going into the emotional, spiritual, and nervous system reality behind being labeled “strong” our whole lives. Because so many of us were taught to survive before we were ever taught to simply be. And now that we’re adults, we’re carrying roles that were handed to us before we ever had the chance to choose who we wanted to become. This episode is for Black women who: 🌻 feel tired but never stop moving 🌻 carry everybody else’s weight 🌻 were taught that rest is laziness 🌻 overgive at work, in family, and in love 🌻 feel unseen even while accomplishing everything 🌻 are healing childhood wounds by performing adulthood perfectly 🌻 feel guilty for wanting softness 🌻 feel resentment building beneath the surface We’re unpacking: ✨ the inner script that tells you to be “the strong one” ✨ the overachiever origin story ✨ why resentment shows up in silence ✨ how the body holds exhaustion ✨ the grief inside bitterness ✨ the moment your spirit decides it’s done performing ✨ how to step into support, softness, and enoughness ✨ practical steps to reclaim rest, boundaries, and your voice This isn’t a video about perfection. This is a video about permission — Permission to be held. Permission to let go. Permission to be supported. Permission to be soft. Permission to be human. 💛 Check out the free PDF that goes with this episode. I created it so you can go deeper — with reflection questions, boundary scripts, and a softness check-in to support your healing. If this touched you, drop a 🌻 in the comments so I know you’re here.
